About Appalachian Audiology

Appalachian Audiology, PLLC was organized by Dr. Jan Dungan to provide affordable, accessible, and beneficial hearing services and hearing aids to adults and children in East Tennessee.

The reference to Appalachia honors the heritage that permeates our lives and was forged by the Appalachian Mountains.

Both offices offer a quiet place for testing, conversation, and access to state-of-the art diagnostic equipment and very effective hearing aids and accessories. All clinics follow the preferred practice patterns of the American Speech and Hearing Association and the American Academy of Audiology.

As East Tennessee's only facility to offer Bluetooth ABR testing, we have the flexibilty to test patients in a comfortable, non-disruptive manner.

To this end, over 40 Physicians and Nurse Practitioners refer their patients for hearing consultations, comprehensive evaluations, periodic monitoring, and second opinions for individuals whose current amplification is not satisfactory.

Appalachian Audiology provides some home-based as well as office-based services related to hearing loss, the need for hearing aids, auditory processing disorders, the symptoms of tinnitus and reduced speech understanding, extreme sensitivity to loud sounds, and sound conservation to individuals of all ages, from infancy through adulthood.
